I'm amazed. Truly amazed at what has been accomplished in less than a week! I suspected I'd lost weight following the plan over Thanksgiving. But I don't have an official weigh in for those weeks. Just the one from last week. So, here we go:
Danielle
Starting: 190.3(taken last Tue)
12/17/12: 188.1
A LOSS OF 2.2 POUNDS! (I'll explain further why this is so amazing in a minute.)
David
Starting: 215.6
12/17/12: 213.2
And he's been eating at least 1 crossover meal a day.
I don't have pictures of us right now, but maybe later I'll get my daughter to take one. I'm so excited! My average weight loss per week on Weight Watchers was .2 lb. If I was lucky. And this week especially would have been a doozy.
David and I spent last week in IL. A business trip turned couple getaway by his boss allowing us to rent a car and drive up instead of just making David fly. 18 hours of uninterrupted conversation, ladies! Just sayin'.... It was amazing. Following THM on the trip was easier than I expected. I took several ingredients with me and a mini-blender. I made frappas and choco pudding in the hotel room! I slipped hamburgers out of their fattening buns and put them in Thomas Pitas. I exercised and felt great!
I got home to my 3yo sleeping off a fever. Sickness, lethargy and diarrhea swept through my little crew. On top of that, we celebrated Hanukkah and I started my cycle. (Sorry for the TMI, but I just want to elaborate on what a perfect storm this usually is for weight gain) I got sick this weekend and spent two days in bed. My exercise this week has been spotty. I ran sprints up the driveway once. David and I have tried to do situps every morning (15-25). With 5 kids, I can't say that I'm inactive. Just not really the kind of exercise I've been wanting. But by sticking to THM guidelines, I still lost weight! I'm SO excited!!!
BTW, the family is LOVING this food! I filled peppers with enchilada filling for an S meal this last week. My daughter has been listening to our talk about the plan and has heard us volleying around 'S', 'E' and 'Fuel Pull' terms. Taking a big bite of food, she exclaimed, "Mom, I think this is an M food for Marvelous."
We've had doughnuts and hushpuppies for Hanukkah. Both low carb. Not healthy, but not as bad for us. I've had fudge and skinny chocolate, fotato soup, chicken soup, frappas. All delicious and trimming! I need to post some pictures and recipes. It's been great. :-)
Now I need to take lunch up to the office. 15 people will be ravenously waiting for a crossover meal they don't even realize is healthy!!
I found your blog on the forum. You certainly do have lots to celebrate. Thanks for sharing your journey. I love following with other THMs.
